Privacy Policy

Effective date: November 7, 2026

This policy explains how the Hayya iOS app ("Hayya", "the app") handles information. Hayya is made by Muhammad Zaman, an individual developer, who is the data controller ("I", "me"). Questions: mtzamanpk@gmail.com.

In short: Hayya has no accounts and no servers of its own. Your location, alarms and settings stay on your device. Free users see non-personalized ads from Google AdMob; Hayya does not ask to track you and does not use your device's advertising identifier. No data is sold.

1. Information processed on your device

Location

With your permission, Hayya reads your approximate location while the app is in use. It is used only to calculate prayer times, which is done on your device with the open-source Adhan library. Your coordinates are not sent to me. To show a city name, or to find a city you type in instead of sharing GPS, the app uses Apple's built-in geocoding service, which is subject to Apple's Privacy Policy. You can deny location access and enter a city instead.

Alarms and preferences

Your alarms, challenge settings, calculation method and other preferences are stored only in the app's local storage on your device. They are not uploaded or backed up by Hayya, and they are deleted when you delete the app.

Motion and step count

If you choose the Steps or Shake wake-up challenge, the app reads motion or step data from your device only while that challenge is on screen, to count your progress. This data is not stored or shared.

Camera

If you choose the QR scan challenge, the app uses the camera only to register and scan your code. Images are processed on the device to read the code and are never saved or uploaded.

Notifications

Hayya schedules local notifications on your device to sound your alarms. No push notification service or token is used for this.

2. Third-party services

Subscriptions (Superwall and Apple)

Hayya Pro is sold through Apple's In-App Purchase. Apple processes all payments; I never see your payment details. The paywall and subscription status are handled by Superwall, which receives information such as an anonymous app user ID, device and app details, paywall interactions and purchase status so it can show the paywall and tell the app whether you have Pro. See also Apple's Privacy Policy.

Advertising (Google AdMob)

Free users see ads served by Google AdMob. Hayya does not request App Tracking Transparency permission, so it does not access your device's advertising identifier (IDFA) and does not track you across other companies' apps or websites. Ads are non-personalized. To serve ads, measure them and prevent fraud, Google may receive information such as your IP address, device type, operating system and app interactions with ads. Where the law requires it (for example in the EEA, the UK and some US states), Google's User Messaging Platform shows a consent form, and you can change your choice at any time from Settings → Ad privacy choices in the app. Pro subscribers see no ads, and the ads SDK is not started for them. Learn more in How Google uses information from sites or apps that use its services and Google's Privacy Policy.

3. What I don't do

4. Legal bases (EEA/UK users)

Location, motion and camera access rely on your consent, given through the iOS permission prompts, which you can withdraw in iOS Settings. Subscription handling is necessary to provide the service you purchase. Advertising relies on your consent where required, collected through Google's consent form, and otherwise on legitimate interest in funding the free version of the app.

5. Retention

Data on your device stays there until you delete it or the app. Data held by Apple, Superwall and Google is retained under their own policies.

6. Your choices and rights

7. Children

Hayya is not directed at children under 13, and I do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided personal information through the app, contact me and I will help remove it.

8. Security

Because your data stays on your device, it is protected by iOS's built-in security. Third-party services use encrypted connections.

9. Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted on this page with a new effective date. Significant changes will also be noted in the app's release notes.
